Privacy notice
CueRoute does not currently provide user accounts. Route-sheet drafts and navigation-session state normally stay in that browser's local storage. The event wizard also saves event drafts and reviewed route snapshots in AWS so organizers can resume setup.
Published route data
When a publisher explicitly creates a public route link, CueRoute stores the route name, description, route sheet, reviewed turn locations, and route geometry in an encrypted AWS DynamoDB table. The route becomes unavailable after 29 days and its record is scheduled for automatic deletion. Anyone with the link can read that route while it is available.
Events and organizer links
An event stores its name, description, contact names, roles and phone numbers, automatic day-selection setting, daily route links, labels, optional dates, and route summaries in the same encrypted AWS table. Event links have no timed expiry; each saved Google route retains its own 29-day expiry. Draft events and their newly saved routes are unavailable to participants until the organizer publishes the event. Opening a published event saves its name and link in that device's browser storage.
The route query parameter opens an event for viewing. The organizer query parameter opens that event for editing and uploading routes. The admin=events query opens event management and its new-event wizard. There are no accounts, access codes, or access cookies yet; anyone opening a management or organizer URL can use its functions. Phone links open the participant's calling or messaging app; CueRoute does not send texts or place calls automatically.
Location data
Foreground GPS fixes are processed in the browser to show progress and are not sent to CueRoute's server or included in a published route. The browser and operating system control location permission.
If you choose Share my location, CueRoute prepares a message containing your coordinates, GPS accuracy, capture time, and a location link. You decide whether and where to send it. The link contains the shared coordinates; opening it sends those coordinates to CueRoute as part of the URL, and selecting a maps app sends them to that provider. Shared links describe one captured location and do not track later movement.
Service and provider data
Uploaded route-sheet PDFs and photos are read on your device and are not uploaded to CueRoute. Extracted directions, mileage, file names, and page references become part of your local draft. Automatic road review sends road names, route area, mileage, and selected route locations to Google Maps Platform and uses OpenStreetMap's Overpass service to check connected roads. Original files are not included in published routes.
AWS may process ordinary request metadata such as IP addresses and logs needed to operate and protect the service. Google Maps Platform receives place and route requests when the publisher explicitly uses the Google workflow; Google handles that data under its own terms and privacy policy.
Deletion and questions
Published routes expire automatically. For an urgent removal request or a privacy question, contact the person who provided the route link so the CueRoute operator can remove the AWS record.
